- Annual Leave: Full-time employees receive 31 days leave per year - 25 days of annual leave, and six College closure days. In addition to eight bank holidays.
- Family Leave: Birkbeck offers generous maternity, paternity, adoption, and shared parental leave. For instance, eligible staff can receive 26 weeks of full pay during maternity or adoption leave, with the option to take up to 52 weeks in total.

- Competitive Salaries: Salaries are aligned with national university pay scales and include London Weighting.
- Pension Schemes: Employees are eligible to join one of two generous pension schemes – the USS scheme contributes 14.5 % from employers, and 6.1% from employees, and the SAUL scheme contributes 19% from employers, and 16% from employees. Both offer tax-free lump sum payments and annual pensions upon retirement, along with a 'Death in Service' lump sum payment.
